[00:37]And even if it's hot outside - he wears it anyway
[00:40]He's home when I'm awake but he shows up when I'm 'sleep
[00:42]I can't believe that there's a nightmare on my street
[00:56]It was a Saturday evening if I remember it right
[01:00]And we had just gotten back off tour last night
[01:02]So the gang and I thought that it would be groovy
[01:05]If we summoned up the posse and bum-rushed the movie
[01:08]I got Angie, Jeff got Tina
[01:11]Ready Rock got some girl I'd never seen in my life
[01:14]That was all right though 'cause the lady was chill
[01:16]Then we dipped to the theater set to ill
[01:19]We saw Elm Street, and man, it was def!
[01:22]And everything seemed all right when we left
[01:24]But when I got home and laid down to sleep
[01:28]That began the nightmare out on my street!
[01:42]It was burning in my room like a oven
[01:44]My bed soaked with sweat
[01:45]And man I was bugging
[01:47]I checked the clock and it stopped at twelve-thirty
[01:50]It had melted it was so darn hot
[01:52]And I was thirsty
[01:53]I went downstairs to grab some juice in my coat
[01:56]Flipped the TV off and then I almost choked
[01:58]When I heard this awful voice coming from behind
[02:01]It said, "You are my favorite rapper but now you must die!"
[02:04]Man, I ain't even wait to see who it was
[02:07]Broke inside my drawers and screamed, "So long, cous'!"
[02:10]Got halfway up the block
[02:11]I calmed down and stopped screaming
[02:12]Then thought, "Oh, I git it, I must be dreaming"
[02:15]I strolled back home with a grin on my grill
[02:17]I think that since this is a dream I might as well get ill
[02:21]I walked in the house, the Big Bad Fresh Prince
[02:24]But Freddy killed all that noise real quick!
[02:27]he grabbed me by my neck and said
[02:28]"Here's what we'll do
[02:29]We gotta lotta work here, me and you
[02:32]The souls of your friends you and I will claim
[02:35]You've got the body and I've got the brain"
[02:38]I said, "Yo Fred I think you got me all wrong
[02:40]I ain't' partners with nobody with nails that long
[02:43]Look, I'll be honest,man, this team won't work
[02:46]The girls won't be on you, Fred, your face is all burnt!"
[02:49]I patted him on the shoulder and said, "Thanks for stoppin' by"
[02:52]Then I opened up the door
[02:53]And said, "Take care, guy!"
[02:54]He got mad, threw back his arm, and slashed my shirt
[02:58]I laughed at first, then thought, "Hold up, that hurt"
[03:00]It wasn't a dream, man, this guy was for real
[03:03]I said, "Freddy, uh, pal, there's been an awful mistake here"
[03:06]No further words and then I darted upstairs
[03:09]Crashed through my door then jumped on my bed
[03:12]Pulled the covers up over my head
[03:14]And said, "Oh please do something with Fred"
[03:17]He jumped on my bed, went through the covers with his claws
[03:20]Tried to get me, but my alarm went off
[03:23]And then silence
[03:24]It was a whole new day
[03:25]I thought, "Huh, I wasn't scared of him anyway"
[03:28]Until I noticed those rips in my sheets
[03:31]And that was proof that there had been
[03:32]A nightmare on my street
